BBC DVD has released preview discs for the forthcoming DOCTOR WHO - EARTH STORY (20 June 2011) featuring THE GUNFIGHTERS and THE AWAKENING as a two-disc boxset.

On 7 July 2011, AUDIOGO will be releasing the Eleventh Doctor's SERIES 6 tie-in exclusive audiobook, DOCTOR WHO - THE EYE OF THE JUNGLE as a single-disc product.

The single disc release is read by David Troughton, and written by Darren Jones.

On 18 July 2011, BBC DVD will be releasing the Seventh Doctor's 1987 story, DOCTOR WHO - PARADISE TOWERS as a single-disc Region 2 product.

There's glimpse of the approved sleeve - right.

Mel wants to go swimming so the Doctor takes her to a tower block called Paradise Towers where there is reputed to be a fantastic pool. When they arrive they discover that the place is far from being the superb leisure resort they had expected - it is run-down and dilapidated.

The hallways are roamed by gangs of young girls known as Kangs; the apartments are inhabited by cannibalistic old ladies, the Rezzies; and the building is managed by a group of dictatorial caretakers, presided over by the Chief Caretaker…

The DVD's "value added material" consists of:

FORBIDDEN PLANET (the original sci-fi retailer) has released details of CHARACTER OPTIONS' new action figures that relate to the current series and the CLASSIC SERIES.

Whilst CHARACTER OPTIONS continue to re-issue previously released action figures with minor changes/additions expecting fans to dip into their TARDIS money boxes, this 2011 "wave" contains the all-new THE SILENCE (however, these are issued in two versions) and AMELIA POND (aged eight).

There is a "tweaked" OOD version and yet another version of the ELEVENTH DOCTOR - with a stetson addition.

The CLASSIC SERIES release is represented by another "set" version of Roger Delgado's THE MASTER along with his TARDIS (a computer bank from THE TIME MONSTER), a crystal and the Doctor's hand-held monitor.

BBC DVD has released details for REGION 1 publication, DOCTOR WHO - EARTH STORY (12 July 2011).

On 16 May, the REGION 2 sleeves were officially released by BBC DVD.

In a blistering attack on DOCTOR WHO fans (or one in particular), Steven Moffat has leveled the accusation of "vandalism" as fans "leak" spoilers on to the internet.

Talking recently to a BBC RADIO 1 reporter (Colin Paterson) at a BAFTA event, Moffat was clearly incensed by a fan who leaked the entire plotline to SERIES 6 episode 1 and 2 following the pre-broadcast launch screening in April.

Transcript: It's heartbreaking in a way because you are trying to tell stories and stories depend on surprise. Stories depend on shocking people. Stories are the moments that you didn't see coming. Those that live in you and burn in you forever.

If you deny these it's vandalism.

To have some twits who came to a Press Launch write up a story in the worst, ham-fisted English that you could imagine and put it on the internet. I hope that this guy doesn't watch my show again as it's a horrific thing to do.

It's like that boring man in the pub who waits until you've nearly finished your joke and jumps in with the punchline and gets it slightly wrong. You hate that guy and you should hate these guys too, and you can imagine how much I hate them too.

It's only fans who do this or call themselves "fans". I wish that they could go and be fans of something else.

Of course, his overt anger is fantastic publicity for the series but one has to question why BBC WALES have not learnt over the last six years on how to limit leaks (when it doesn't suit them).

However, it is not only fans that leak before broadcast; on SERIES 6 launch day, THE MIRROR newspaper printed a photo of a regenerating Eleventh Doctor that was a spoiler to 3 million readers.

If fans want spoilers, here's the site (which we hope BBC WALES will be able to close due to "breach of copyright") to go to (or not): http://doctorwhospoilers.com/2011/ and avoid "fan forums" & "blogs" too.

Today, BBC confirmed that it will broadcast the final three stories of THE SARAH JANE ADVENTURES as a tribute to Lis Sladen, however the commissioned remaining stories will not be filmed.

BBC PRESS STATEMENT: Contrary to press reports today we can confirm that no new episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures will be filmed following the tragic death of actress Elisabeth Sladen in April, 2011. As a tribute to Elisabeth the six episodes that were recorded with her last year will be broadcast on CBBC at a date to be confirmed.

The online version of the BBC's RADIO TIMES is questioning "Who on earth is DOCTOR WHO aimed at?" as it examines the first two episodes of SERIES 6 set against the CLASSIC SERIES and how perhaps the former is leaving its core audience (children) behind.

David Brown writes: "And all the while our kids are missing out on something that can be imaginative but innocent, playful without being baffling. It's not too late to put things right - just reverse the polarity of the neutron flow and I'll be happy."
