FORBIDDEN PLANET (the original sci-fi retailer) has released details of CHARACTER OPTIONS' new action figures that relate to the current series and the CLASSIC SERIES.

Whilst CHARACTER OPTIONS continue to re-issue previously released action figures with minor changes/additions expecting fans to dip into their TARDIS money boxes, this 2011 "wave" contains the all-new THE SILENCE (however, these are issued in two versions) and AMELIA POND (aged eight).

There is a "tweaked" OOD version and yet another version of the ELEVENTH DOCTOR with a stetson addition.

The CLASSIC SERIES release is represented by another "set" version of Roger Delgado's THE MASTER along with his TARDIS (a computer bank from THE TIME MONSTER), a crystal and the Doctor's hand-held monitor.

FORBIDDEN PLANET has announced details of the next "Davros" action figure sets, GENESIS OF THE DALEKS and DESTINY OF THE DALEKS.

The sets (RRP £34.99 each - released 15 April 2011 and 16 May 2011 respectively) contains the latest "version" of the Fourth Doctor (used in THE SONTARAN EXPERIEMENT toy set), a version of Davros and two daleks (previously released).

The Tenth Doctor is issued in September 2011, with a pre-order price of £49.99 (RRP £59.99).

Forbidden Planet has released details of a new polystone (the same material used by WETA) statuette of Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor. This is the first in the "COLLECTOR STATUES" range.

This 9" high figure is released on 15 July 2010 with a RRP £59.99. However, the pre-order price is £49.99.

Fans have voiced their disappointed that the recent CHARACTER OPTIONS manufactured toy, Third Doctor Sonic Screwdriver is not only £5.00 more expensive than the Eleventh Doctor's version but it does not feature the original sound effect as featured in the CLASSIC SERIES. "Sloppy design" as one fan commented to eyeofhorus.org.uk

It is hoped that this Fourth Doctor version has the Fourth Doctor sound effect.

We are re-printing a list of forthcoming (TBC) action figures that we were emailed.

Two items on the list was "a classic sonic" (which eyeofhorus.org.uk has now seen) and a set (RESSURECTION OF THE DALEKS) that has been announced today by FORBIDDEN PLANET (link to product information). The latter set features a new "paint-finish" for the Fifth Doctor, a new Davros sculpt and two new dalek "paint-finish". Released on 17 January 2011 pre-order price £34.99.
