27 JUNE 2007 | SERIES 4 | Phil Collinson leaving WHO for CORRIE
As eyeofhorus.org.uk exclusively reported back in March, there is professional speculation that DOCTOR WHO SERIES 1-3 Producer, Phil Collinson, will be leaving the BBC WALES drama series for GRANADA TV's CORONATION STREET.
He would join Tony Warren (the creator of the series, coming out of retirement) in re-launching the long-running "soap" in an attempt to make it relevant for the 21st century whilst drawing on its considerable heritage.
Confirmation is expected next month (before SERIES 4 production begins).
Whilst media outlets have previously reported that David Tennant will be leaving the series no official confirmation that the actor has contractually signed for a third year.
According to actress, Freema Agyeman, she will be appearing in SERIES 4.

The full list of new DOCTOR WHO audio
titles for the first part of 2007:
STING OF THE ZYGONS (Stephen
Cole): The TARDIS lands the Doctor and Martha in the Lake District in 1909, where
a small village is being terrorised by a giant, scaly monster. The search is
on for the elusive 'Beast of Cumbria', and explorers, naturalists and hunters
from across the country are descending on the hills. King Edward VII himself
is on his way to join the search, with a knighthood for whoever finds the Beast.
But there is more at work in the Lakes than just a monster, and when the Doctor
discovers certain old enemies have made an appearance, the hunting party - and
even the king - may find danger they couldn't have imagined.
WOODEN HEART (former eyeofhorus contributor,
Martin Day): On a large silver spaceship, seemingly deserted and spinning slowly
between the stars, Martha and the Doctor make a horrific discovery. Is this really
a floating tomb, and why has a stretch of wooded countryside suddenly appeared
in the middle of the craft? Things become even more mysterious as they explore
the woods and find a village within - a village traumatised by missing children...
THE LAST DODO (Jacqueline Rayner):
After a trip to the zoo, the Doctor and Martha go in search of a real live dodo,
and are transported by the TARDIS to the mysterious Museum of the Last Ones.
There, in the Earth section, they discover every extinct creature up to the present
day - billions of them, from the tiniest insect to the biggest dinosaur, all
still alive and in suspended animation. Preservation is the Museum's only job
- collecting the last of every endangered species from all over the universe.
And for millennia the Museum has been trying to trace one elusive specimen: the
last of the Time Lords...

18 JUNE 2007 | MERCHANDISE | BBC AUDIO release
BBC AUDIO are releasing MOTHS EAT MY DOCTOR WHO SCARF on 30 July 2007 (Duration 60 minutes RRP £9.99), an autobiography of Toby Hadoke. The two-part drama will be first broadcast on BBC7 earlier in the month.
BBC PRESS RELEASE :
This is Toby Hadoke's fantastic autobiographical piece, with universal appeal, told along the timeline of Doctor Who history, using smart comedic observations and excerpts from his teenage diaries. These include how he coped with being bullied, why he never got the girl, and later how being such a fan of Doctor Who helped to actually get the girl and end up with two children that are now the envy of every kid in the playground, all thanks to a geeky obsession.
'Moths Ate My Doctor Who Scarf' is a two-part version of Toby's successful 2006 Edinburgh show that toured throughout the UK earlier this year. This BBC 7 production will be broadcast on 20th and 27th July, featuring a cast that includes, amongst others, Louise Jameson (Leela from Doctor Who) as Toby's mum, James Quinn (from Early Doors) as The Voice of the BBC and Toby who plays himself and narrates. There's also a cameo appearance from the sixth Doctor himself, Colin Baker!

31 MAY 2007 | SERIES 4 | THE SUN - DOCTOR WHO AXED
Deja vu for older DOCTOR WHO fans - remember 1984?
THE SUN reports - and let's hope they are correct otherwise they will be the laughing stock all over again - that DOCTOR WHO will be removed from the BBC schedules next year after SERIES 4.
The reason?
Russell T Davies (and his Executive Team) resigning and he refusing to handover the project to another team. See photograph - Russell T Davies and Phil Collinson (pictured with Edward Thomas - far right).
Of course, the story could be misinformed (though, in 2003, RTD had an agreement with former BBC Head of Drama, Mal Young &
former BBC 1 Controller, Lorraine Heggessey
that he would have to approve all plots & storylines for DOCTOR WHO should the series continue long term. Therefore, no approval no DOCTOR WHO).
eyeofhorus.org.uk comment: the story is misjudged.
THE SUN
BBC PRESS OFFICE STATEMENT (10:15AM)
"The BBC has a long term commitment to Dr Who. We are approaching the
climax of a brilliant third series, and work on series 4 gets underway
from next week."
