BBC AUDIO has published details of forthcoming (and released) audiobooks that relate to both the CLASSIC SERIES and the NEW SERIES 9.

Geoffrey Beevers & John Leeson reads Terrance Dicks underrated DOCTOR WHO AND THE STATE OF DECAY (1980), and is released on 7 January 2016.

Peter Purves reads John Lucurotti's first Doctor story, DOCTOR WHO - THE MASSACRE (1966), and was released on 11 June 2015.

The original novel, DOCTOR WHO - THE WITCH HUNTERS (Steve Lyons) is released on 7 January 2016.

Starting in August, BBC AUDIO is releasing a set of four 'linked' stories, and all read by Clare Higgins (actress from DOCTOR WHO - THE NIGHT OF THE DOCTOR).

On 20 August 2015, DOCTOR WHO - THE GODS OF WINTER (by James Goss) features the 12th Doctor and Clara.

George Mann's DOCTOR WHO - THE HOUSE OF WINTER is published on 1 October 2015.

DOCTOR WHO - THE SINS OF WINTER penned by James Goss will be released on 3 December 2015.

DOCTOR WHO - THE MEMORY OF WINTER by George Mann is published on 4 February 2016.

BBC has released a second - explosive - trailer for DOCTOR WHO SERIES 9, and whilst it contains a few more SPOILERS than you'd want to have it is nonetheless a thrilling taster for it.

A city of (multi-designed) Daleks, Missy (and the Dalek), Zygons, Dragon, one-handed zombies (?), 'regeneration chamber', UNIT's Osgood, Supreme Dalek, and UNIT.

Is this going to be the defining 'season' for Capaldi's Doctor? It's rattling in my bones that it will be...

And the TARDIS ROUNDELS make a return - finally - but this time are back-illuminated. Sleepless nights and day-dreaming days until the 19th.

The twelve-episode series starts on Saturday 19 September 2015.

The Sixth Doctor never had a proper regeneration story on television – so now Colin Baker has returned to record The Last Adventure for audio production company Big Finish.

“Big Finish came to me, and said, ‘If we write you a really good story, and if we released your seven cats which we've kidnapped, which are suspended above this flame getting lower and lower, will you perhaps do this story?'” Colin jokes, “and I reluctantly agreed, and my cats are safe!”

“I did require a little persuasion,” he admits, more candidly. So what changed his mind? “Oh, the idea of a release. A release from the tension of saying ‘no' repeatedly. And… it's Big Finish! That's what changed my mind.”
