Tonight, BBC ONE premiered an all-new trailer for Steven Moffat's DOCTOR WHO SERIES 5 with Matt Smith and Karen Gillan. The official BBC YOU TUBE release is below.
The 40 second trailer features the Doctor and Amy being "sucked into an earth-based vortex" to encounter visions of the future: a dalek, a weeping angel that the Doctor vaporises, a double-faced alien creature and a silurian.
The BBC are promoting the broadcast period as Easter 2010. eyeofhorus.org.uk continues, as we have since January, to state that the broadcast date will be Saturday 3 April 2010.
The trailer is available in UK cinemas as a 3D version shown during Tim Burton's ALICE IN WONDERLAND movie.

16 FEBRUARY 2010 | SERIES 5 | PROMOTIONAL IMAGE
DOCTOR WHO - SERIES 5 is being promoted with a newly released composite image of Matt Smith and Karen Gillan surrealistically floating either in a very large PLANET OF THE GIANTS homage (a very large sink plug hole) or in the re-working of the space-time vortex.
Not very sophisticated or mysterious or enticing or enigmatic unlike the "Do you want to come with me?" of Eccleston. Definitely aimed at the DOCTOR WHO ADVENTURES market of pre-teens.
Images of dalek and "weeping angels" placed in a clear "bubble" are reminiscent of McCoy's opening titles.
On Saturday 20 February the second taster for DOCTOR WHO - SERIES 5 will be broadcast on BBC ONE during "early evening". It airs at 18:29.

2 FEBRUARY 2010 | MERCHANDISE | BBC AUDIO
The 4 March 2010 sees the release of David Tennant's BBC AUDIO exclusive written by James Goss, DEAD AIR.
'Hello, I'm the Doctor. And, if you can hear this, then one of us is going to die'. At the bottom of the sea, in the wreck of a floating radio station, a lost recording has been discovered. After careful restoration, it is played for the first time - to reveal something incredible. It is the voice of the Doctor, broadcasting from Radio Bravo in 1966. He has travelled to Earth in search of the Hush - a terrible weapon that kills, silences and devours anything that makes noise - and has tracked it to a boat crewed by a team of pirate DJs. With the help of feisty Liverpudlian Layla and some groovy pop music, he must trap the Hush and destroy it - before it can escape and destroy the world...
