"...we

whores, one and all..." |
Okay,
let's knock this on the head!
Sources.
Contacts. "Deep theoats". Denials. Rumours.
Hints. Knowing winks.
Ever since a DOCTOR WHO fan
climbed from the primeval slime (of his bed), managing to stand erect on his
own two feet (enveloped in TARDIS carpet slippers) he has focused on exercising
his "hunter-gatherer" need for behind-the-scenes tidbits.
DOCTOR WHO fanzine Editors, whether
in print or online, have aimed to bring something exclusive to their respective
organ, negotiating with production staff and developing subservient relationships
with BBC staff at TV Centre.
EOH is not any different
We have Sources, contacts and people who are just
plain gossips. And we exploit them. WHO whores, one and all. It's just a TV show,
after all, not life-or-death.
So here's
the deal. Some information that is telephoned or emailed (and occasionally a
brown envelope with photocopies of "monster" sketches has even dropped
onto the doormat) is as accurate as a detailed strand of DNA but some is not
(due to message manipulation evident in STATE
OF DECAY).
If it's
correct, EOH doesn't tend to boast and when it is downright inaccurate we don't
tend to placate ourselves with prefix or suffices of "Perhaps,..." or "We think..." or "..?".
That should change. EOH will boast, and EOH will
apologise.
So continue to log-on to EOH, or not. Your choice.
If you don't like Source information that eventually
is wrong or, even, discredited, then don't log-on; delete the site from your
list of Favourites. Simple.
So, let's get something out of the way.
SERIES 2 LAUNCH DATE
SERIES
2 launch date will be announced shortly. BBC PLANNING designated the DATE back
in October 2005, and was 25 March 2006. This was changed in November. The new
date (15 April 2006) was leaked to EOH by a BBC TV employee, and we published
this date in January. Again, EOH stuck it's sphinx-like neck out. No other DOCTOR
WHO website, UK or USA, published this date prior to this. We checked at the
time.
So, if 15 April is wrong, EOH will apologise.
SERIES 2 TRAILERS
As for the TRAILERS that we were told would be
broadcast from Saturday 11 March; this was inaccurate. EOH was given this date
by a BBC TV employee. Sorry but TV programming changes.
Paul McGann returning to SERIES 1
A BBC Drama
Executive told EOH that it was an intention to provide "a continuity" to DOCTOR
WHO. Naturally, this did not happen. Sorry.
The Pre-title sequence
We ran this information before any other website,
and the information was dismissed by BBC WALES, only to be reverse by Producer,
Phil Collinson mere months before SERIES 1 launch.
There
are other instances, but that will do for now. As former Producer, John Nathan-Turner
used to say, "Stay tuned!".
